Awesome garage rock/organ worship from Sao Palo, Brazil. Pretty fuzzy, totally gritty. If you're a fan of Brazilian music from the 60s and 70s or just a fan of rad garage rock, Os Haxixins will do you right.
Hey there. I realize your blog here is pretty-much in "abandoned mode", but I went looking for music from this Brazilian "Os Haxixins" band (after hearing them on the U of Oregon college radio station today)....and found your fine & generous posting here. Love Brazilian earthy soulfulness & also primitive biting garage rock. A newer great band in this vein, with a great subversive primitive sound, is Fumaca Preta, brazilians based in Amsterdam.
Coincidentally, I spent a good amount of my "prime life" in S.F., going to many shows (mid-80's to late 2000). Saw the silicon-valley hipsters starting to descend, invade & occupy in the '90s....and my precious Mission Dist. working-class reality was on the expressway to being destroyed, & that was IT. Sayonara. Fuck Cali white vanity & image obsession. Haven't lived in the 'Golden State' since. Anyway, if you're not blogging about music anymore, presuming something better has taken its place. All the best, you seem like a thinking person w/ passion for music & humanity. And yea, FUCK tech yuppies & "Rolling Stone". ml, tucson, az
